Angela graciously agreed to host me on her blog on D-day to talk about my newly released novel, Defenders of the Covenant. It's an LDS sci-fi adventure novel about Mormon youth fighting to free the earth from an alien invasion. After all, not even an alien invasion can stop the work of God.
D is also for one of the characters in the book, Derek. Derek is a bit of a Dork, but one thing I love about him is his Determination. Derek is always Determined to do the right thing, no matter how frightening or difficult. He never quits, and overcomes tremendous odds through the course of the novel.
Determination is also an important trait for writers. We, too, have to be Determined to beat the odds, to keep going and never quit. We have to be Determined to succeed. My journey has taken me many years, and I certainly wouldn't have ended up with a published novel if I'd given up every time the going got tough. It's hard, but it's worth it. Friends, move forward with Determination. I know you can do it!
